In tapestry weaving, the weaver crafts an image or decorative pattern by interlacing colored threads. Each color is represented by a separate piece of weft, which means that the colored threads do not extend across the entire width of the work, but rather appear only where that color is required. This technique enables the creation of intricate and detailed images.

I create three types of frames:
My frames are crafted from reclaimed hardwood, spruce, or pine. The hardwood typically originates from discarded furniture, while the spruce is often sourced from construction materials. The unique corner joints in the standard frame are constructed from hardwood or locally sourced cherry wood.

Thanks to the natural material, each needle boasts a warm and unique feel: the grain and color of the wood transform every piece into a small handcrafted artwork. This beautiful and practical tool is perfect for both beginner weavers and seasoned artisans who appreciate working with authentic materials.
A bobbin, similar to a weaving needle, is used to thread yarn through the warp. Yarn can be wound onto the bobbin and employed in various weaving techniques, including tapestry weaving, band weaving, and other forms of hand weaving. Its compact design allows for easy color changes and keeps different yarns organized and untangled.
The Shed Stick is used to keep the warp threads open and to press down the weft thread. By turning the shed stick, you can easily create an opening (shed) to pass the weft thread through.
The Shed Stick has a shape like a sword. It has a rounded sharp edge, allowing it to press down the weft thread effectively without damaging it. The other side is somewhat flat-rounded, making the Shed Stick easy to turn and keep in place between the warp threads.
The Shed Stick is sanded multiple times with a fine grain and oiled, so it slides smoothly through the warp.
The Stick Shuttle is specifically designed for comfortable weaving on heddle and shaft looms. It's beneficial to select a Stick Shuttle length that matches the width of your workpiece. With each pass through the shed, approximately one length of the shuttle's yarn is unwound. It is therefore also possible to request a Stick Shuttle in your preferred length.
This Stick Shuttle features an ergonomic design with rounded ends, allowing it to glide effortlessly and smoothly through the warp. The wide slot running the full length provides ample space for the yarn, ensuring a seamless and even weft insertion. Additionally, the Stick Shuttle has been meticulously sanded with fine-grain sandpaper and finished with hardening oil, resulting in a durable and comfortable feel in the hand.
For weaving or knitting, yarn is an essential requirement. Spinning involves twisting the fibers of clean wool together to create a strong, continuous thread.
The drop spindle is among the oldest tools for spinning fibers such as wool, flax, or cotton into yarn, dating back to long before the Common Era. The spinning wheel emerged around the Middle Ages, significantly speeding up the spinning process. However, the spinning wheel's main drawback is its lack of portability. As a result, the drop spindle continues to thrive as a traditional craft, used today both on the go and while multitasking.
As the spindle spins, the fibers are twisted together, transforming them into a durable and usable yarn. A heavier spindle is suited for creating thicker, sturdy yarn, while a lighter spindle is ideal for producing finer, delicate yarn.
The Turkish spindle depicted here features two wooden arms that enable you to pull the formed ball of yarn directly after spinning. This variant eliminates the need to unwind the yarn from the spindle before creating a ball.
Crafted from various types of reclaimed wood, the weight of the spindle is primarily determined by the type of wood used.
Each spindle undergoes quality testing by an experienced spinner and is meticulously balanced.
For winding spun yarn into a skein. The Niddy Noddy has two different shaft lengths, which increases usability for various yarn thicknesses and lengths. The parts are not glued, making it easy to carry in your bag.

Crafted from a single section of ash wood, this piece has been skillfully sawn to prevent warping and meticulously reassembled to showcase its stunning, continuous grain pattern. Constructed without any metal components, it features robust wooden joints bonded with high-quality adhesive. The design draws inspiration from one of the most iconic furniture pieces in Dutch design history.
